Wedding Photographer & Videographer in Clearwater, FL
Clearwater is a beach city first. The barrier island faces straight west into the Gulf, the sand is white and wide, and the resorts are built so that the ceremony, the dinner, and the sunset all happen within a few steps of each other. Across the causeway the mainland is calmer: a bluff over the harbor, old oaks, and small towns such as Dunedin, Belleair, and Safety Harbor.

As a wedding photographer and videographer in Clearwater, we plan the day around two things that decide almost everything here: where the sun will be, and how many other people will be on the beach.
Clearwater Wedding Venues: the Beach, the Harbor, and the Towns Nearby
Most Clearwater weddings happen on Clearwater Beach itself. The large resorts along the Gulf, such as the Sandpearl, Opal Sands, the Wyndham Grand, and the Hyatt Regency, have their own lawns, terraces, and stretches of sand, which keeps the ceremony away from the busiest part of the public beach. Getting ready, the first look, and the reception are usually all in one building, so nobody spends the afternoon in a car.

Just south, over the Sand Key Bridge, Sand Key Park is the quiet answer to Clearwater Beach: the same white sand and the same sunset, with dunes and sea oats behind you and far fewer people. It is a good place for portraits even when the wedding itself is at a resort.

On the mainland, downtown Clearwater sits on a bluff above the harbor, and Coachman Park below it has open lawns and a view across the water to the beach. Belleair, a few minutes south, is old Florida: shaded streets and the Belleview Inn, the restored part of a grand 1890s hotel. To the north, Dunedin has a small-town main street and the causeway out to Honeymoon Island. To the east, Safety Harbor looks out over Old Tampa Bay.

Kevin and Kaylee's wedding film on our YouTube channel was made here in Clearwater.

Each of these places has its own rules about timing, permits, and where a camera crew can stand. We ask about them before the wedding, not during it.
Light and Timing on the Gulf
Clearwater Beach faces west, so the sun sets into the water. That is the light most couples have in mind, and here you do not have to travel for it. We plan the ceremony time backwards from sunset: about 5:35 pm in December, about 8:30 pm in late June. A ceremony that starts roughly an hour and a half before sunset leaves time for family photos in soft light and portraits in the last warm half hour.

The other side of the coin is that everyone else comes for the same sunset. Around Pier 60 the beach fills up every evening. If your ceremony is on public sand, we choose the spot and the angle so that the frame holds the two of you and the water, not a row of beach umbrellas. Resort lawns and Sand Key make this much easier.

The harbor side of downtown and Belleair also look west, across the Intracoastal, so the evening light is good there too, with boats and the bridge in the background instead of open horizon. Safety Harbor faces east: soft shade in the evening, no sunset over the water.

A few practical points for the beach. Wind is constant, so we use microphones that handle it and suggest where to stand for clean sound. White sand is beautiful in the evening and harsh at noon. From June through September short afternoon storms are common, so a covered backup close by matters.
Photo and Video Together on Your Wedding Day
We photograph and film Clearwater weddings as one crew. That matters most in tight moments: a first look on a hotel terrace, a ceremony on the sand with guests on three sides, a walk back up the boardwalk at dusk. Two separate teams would be in each other's frame. We decide in advance who stands where.

During the ceremony one camera stays wide and steady for the full record, while another follows faces: the look at the top of the aisle, a parent in the front row, hands during the rings. Vows and speeches are recorded with dedicated microphones, so your film has clear voices, not wind and waves.

After the wedding, video packages with a teaser or trailer deliver it within two days, and photo collections include a preview within 48 hours. The full film, the ceremony and speech edits, and the complete gallery follow. The collections on this page show what is included at each level, and each one can be adjusted: more hours, a second videographer, extra social cuts.

Our style is calm. We guide when it helps, mostly during portraits and family groups, and step back the rest of the time so the day looks the way it felt.
Book Your Clearwater Wedding Photographer and Videographer
We are based in Sarasota, about an hour and a quarter from Clearwater over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and we work throughout Pinellas County: Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, Belleair, Dunedin, Safety Harbor, and St. Petersburg. We also cover weddings across the bay in Tampa.

Send us your date, your venue, and what you need: photo, video, or both. We will tell you if the date is open and send a clear quote. If you have a venue in mind but no timeline yet, we can suggest ceremony and portrait times based on where the venue faces and the time of year.
