Orlando has no coastline, and its weddings look different because of it. In place of a horizon there are lakes, old oaks with Spanish moss, gardens, and large resorts built for celebrations. The light is softer under the trees and the settings change quickly from one street to the next.

As a wedding photographer and videographer in Orlando, we plan around the two things that matter most inland: shade and the afternoon weather.

Winter Park, just north of downtown, is the classic choice: brick streets, the chain of lakes, and venues such as Casa Feliz and the Alfond Inn within a few minutes of each other. Harry P. Leu Gardens has fifty acres of camellias, roses, and oak canopy, shaded even at midday. Downtown, Lake Eola gives you water and skyline in one frame.

West of the city, Bella Collina sits in rolling hills and looks more like Tuscany than Florida. Cypress Grove Estate House and Paradise Cove put the ceremony right on a lake. Around the theme parks, the large resorts have ballrooms, lawns, and terraces designed for weddings, and they run on precise schedules.

Distances here are larger than they look. A church in Winter Park and a reception near the parks can be forty minutes apart on a Saturday, so we plan portraits where you already are.

Each of these places has its own rules about timing, access, and where a camera crew can stand. We ask about them before the wedding, not during it.

Without an open horizon, the best light in Orlando is under and between the trees. Oak shade gives soft, even light for most of the day, and the hour before sunset turns the lakes gold. Whether the sun sets over the water depends on which shore your venue is on, and we check that for each place before suggesting a ceremony time. Sunset is about 5:30 pm in December and about 8:25 pm in late June.

Summer needs honest planning. From June through September a storm in the middle of the afternoon is close to a daily event. It usually passes within an hour, and the light afterwards is often the best of the day, but the ceremony needs a covered option and the timeline needs room to wait. The heat and humidity are real too, so we keep outdoor portraits short and near shade.

October through May is easier: dry air, mild evenings, and long golden hours. Winter evenings can be cool, which most couples from the north welcome.

Indoors, ballrooms and chapels vary a lot in light. We bring our own lighting for receptions so the photos and the film look the same in every room.

We photograph and film Orlando weddings as one crew. That matters most in tight moments: a first look under the oaks, a chapel with a narrow aisle, a ballroom entrance with guests on both sides. Two separate teams would be in each other's frame. We decide in advance who stands where.

During the ceremony one camera stays wide and steady for the full record, while another follows faces: the look at the top of the aisle, a parent in the front row, hands during the rings. Vows and speeches are recorded with dedicated microphones, so your film has clear voices, not room noise and air conditioning.

After the wedding, video packages with a teaser or trailer deliver it within two days, and photo collections include a preview within 48 hours.
